There are many users of Samsung Galaxy S2, who are waiting for Samsung to release Android KitKat 4.4 for their phone but still they didn’t released it nor said that they will go to launch it for their phone. It might take a lot time for this release or even they never release this for it. So, if you don’t want to wait or don’t want to purchase another phone than you can update Samsung Galaxy S2 to Android 4.4 KitKat [Only GT-I9100] now, however it is not official ROM. It is Omni ROM which is smooth and works greatly without lags on the phone.

- Do not try to use this tutorial in any other phone or model. It is for Galaxy S2 I9100 only.
- Your phone should be charged at least 80% while following the tutorial.
- Backup everything you want back.
- Download Samsung USB Drivers to your Computer and install them.
- Enable USB Debugging Mode by – Menu > Settings > Applications > Development > Android Debugging in ICS, or Menu > Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging in Android Jelly Bean.
Having CWM 6.0.4.6+ is important to install Android 4.4 on your device.
How to Root Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100?
Step 1 – Download the Root files from here and extract its files on your Computer.Step 2 – Connect your phone to your Computer and when you see Debugging Mode Notification on your phone than follow next step.
Step 3 – Now find runme.bat file on the extracted folder files from Step 1. Now Run it and it will automatically root your phone.
Step 4 – If you are done, you can see Superuser App on your phone. Your phone is now rooted!
How to Install CWM Recovery in Samsung Galaxy S2?
In Ice Cream Sandwich:
Step 1 – Download CWM Recovery for Samsung Galaxy S2 ICS and keep it on your phone’s SD Card.Step 3 – Now choose Apply Update from External Storage and select the file you’ve downloaded in Step 1 and if it ask for confirmation click on Yes. You’re done!
In Android Jelly Bean:
Step 1 – Download Odin Tool and CWM Recovery file.Step 2 – Boot your phone in Download Mode, press and hold Home + Volume Down + Power Key till your phone boot.
Step 3 – Open Odin Tool and connect your phone to the computer after it Odin Tool will detect your phone.
Step 4 – Now Click PDA (AP) button on Odin Tool and select the CWM Recovery file which you have downloaded.
Step 5 – Now keep the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time Options checked and then click on Start.
Step 6 – Now disconnect your phone from the computer and boot into Recovery Mode, press Home + Volume Up + Power Key until it boot. You’re done!
Update Samsung Galaxy S2 to Android 4.4 KitKat:
Step 1 – Download Omni ROM and GApps and move them to your phone’s Memory Card.Step 2 – Now boot into Recovery Mode by pressing Home + Volume Up + Power Key and hold them till your phone boot.
Step 3 – Now select Install Zip from SD Card and choose the downloaded ROM file.
Step 4 – Again go to Recovery Mode and select Install Zip from SD Card then choose the GApp file you downloaded. And then reboot your phone. You’re done!
If you have updated/flashed Android 4.4 on Samsung Galaxy S2, then be sure to give reviews about the experience.
Update: I found GApps for Android 4.4 KitKat but I haven’t tested it but if you want than you can try to install it. I couldn’t give you guarantee whether this is working or not but you might like to try this.
Installing Google Apps in Custom ROM:
Step 1 – Download GApps Pack from here and put it in the SD Card.Step 2 – Boot your phone in Recovery Mode and then choose Install from SD Card and choose the downloaded files.
Step 3 – Wait for it to complete, and done! You’ve got Google Apps on your phone
